Drawing on her many years of experience as a violinist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Anna de Vey Mestdagh has written a wealth of anecdotal columns on these and many other subjects for music magazine Preludium. Especially for this selection, Theo van den Boogaard has contributed a series of original cartoons.
Anna de Vey Mestdagh (1965) studied violin at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Bouw Lemkes and Ilya Grubert. She has been a member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 1992. In addition to her performing career, she writes feature articles, interviews, and columns on music-related topics.
Theo van den Boogaard (1948) is a celebrated and highly influential figure in the world of comics. He is best known for the Sjef van Oekel comic strips, based on a character created by Wim T. Schippers. In 1989, he received the Stripschapsprijs (Dutch Comics Association Award) in recognition of his entire body of work.
